Install Receipt Snoop on your phone
The same app either way. It needs nothing from your bank, and it is free to download.
Receipt Snoop runs in your phone's web browser, so there is nothing to buy from an app store and no new account to set up anywhere but here. If you would like it to sit on your home screen with your other apps, so it opens with one tap, here is how, on each kind of device. It takes under a minute.
On an iPhone or iPad
- Open receiptsnoop.com in Safari. It has to be Safari on an iPhone. The other browsers cannot add a page to your home screen.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen. It is the square with an arrow pointing up out of it.
- Scroll down the list of options and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add in the top corner. The Receipt Snoop icon now sits with your other apps, and you open it the same way.
On an Android phone
- Open receiptsnoop.com in Chrome.
- Tap the menu button, the three dots in the top corner.
- Tap Install app. Some phones call it Add to Home screen instead; either one is the right choice.
- Tap Install to confirm. The icon appears with your other apps.
Receipt Snoop for Android is on its way to Google Play. When it arrives there you will be able to install it from the Play Store as well. There is no link to it yet, and the steps above give you the very same app in the meantime.
On a computer
There is nothing to install. Open receiptsnoop.com in any browser and sign in. Everything works the same as it does on a phone, with one exception: scanning a barcode off a shelf tag needs a phone camera, so that part is a phone job.
What you do not need
- No app store account, and no card on file with Apple or Google.
- No bank login and no retailer password. Receipt Snoop never asks for either.
- Nothing to pay to download it. It is free while we are new.
